It takes some practise, but once you have got the hang of tieing your hooks or lures onto your line it will be like second nature to you.

Steps to take:

1. Insert the end of the fishing line through the eye of the hook.
2. Wrap the end of the line around the line (going back to the reel) four to eight times.
3. Pass the end of the line through the loop that exists between the eye of the hook and the twists.
4. Pass the end of the line through the loop you just created in the previous step.
5. Pull it tight. (a little moisture here helps a lot)
6. Clip off the excess line above the knot. Only leave 1/8″ or so.

Tips:

• Fingernail clippers work great for step 6.

• Reading glasses are a handy addition to a tackle box.

• Sometimes, using a snap-swivel can help. A snap-swivel is a piece of terminal tackle that you attach your lure or bait to to connect to your line. It allows your bait to move more freely and prevents bothersome line twists.

Warnings:

• The hooks are very sharp; avoid contact with they eyes or other skin.

• When fishing, keep fishing license with you.
